Privacy policy

This page is a plain-language policy written for a construction publication. It is not legal advice — have it reviewed against the law that applies where you operate before relying on it.

Who we are

Constropedia is operated by Binary and Bricks Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Maharashtra, India. In this policy, "we" means that company and "the site" means constropedia.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Newsletter subscriptions. Your email address, and the date you subscribed.
• Contact form messages. Your name, email address, chosen subject and message.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, browser user agent, requested page, referring page and timestamp — for security and diagnostics.
• Analytics. Where analytics are in use, they record aggregate page views and referrers.

What we do not collect

Nothing you type into our calculators leaves your browser. Every free tool on this site runs entirely as JavaScript on your own device. Your dimensions, rates and quantities are never transmitted to us, never stored, and never visible to anyone but you. Close the tab and they are gone.

How we use it

• To send The Site Diary newsletter, if you asked for it.
• To reply to your message, if you sent one.
• To keep the site secure, diagnose faults and understand which guides are useful.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Third parties

• Google Fonts. The site loads Newsreader and Archivo from Google's font servers. Your browser's request to Google includes your IP address and user agent. See Google's own privacy policy for how they treat it.
• Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf.
• Our newsletter provider stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf.
• Our form provider processes contact form submissions on our behalf.
• App stores. Links to Google Play and the App Store take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy policies. We receive no personal data from them about you.

Cookies

The site itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Where analytics are in use, they may set a cookie or equivalent identifier; your browser settings can block these without affecting how the site works. None of the calculators require cookies.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter addresses — until you unsubscribe, then removed from active lists.
• Contact messages — retained while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference.
• Server logs — for the period set by our hosting provider, typically a matter of weeks.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email — no need to contact us first.

To exercise any of these, use our contact form. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

This site is aimed at construction professionals and students. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
